Refuge is tomorrow night beginning at 7 PM in the Nichols Building. We will end by 8:30 PM. There will be a brief meeting for those going on the junior high mission trip immediately after Refuge. That meeting will end by 8:45 PM. Parents are not required to attend. Your teen will receive a schedule, final details of the trip and a packing list. Just a reminder that the final payment is due for the mission trip. Total cost is $100.
continue reading this article »Refuge Tonight (June 23) Refuge is tonight beginning at 7 PM. Worship and teaching from 7-7:30. Afterward, we’ll go see Kung Fu Panda at Riverfront Park in Little Rock. The movie begins at sundown (~8:30). Movie is free. There are concessions stands, so students may want money for that. We’ll return to LRC after the movie around 10:30 PM. See Chad for more details.
continue reading this article »Movie in the Park We are planning to go to Little Rock’s Movie in the Park this Wednesday for Refuge to see Kung Fu Panda (rated PG). The movie is free. Meet at LRC at 7 PM. Transportation will be provided to Riverfront Park. The movie begins around 8 PM. Students may want to bring money for concessions. We should return to around 10 PM. Food for the Hungry For 7-12th graders. Help with the Food for the Hungry ministry Monday, June 28. Arrive at 5 PM ready to help serve food, carry boxes and assist in other ways. Students are invited to hang out until 8:30 PM. Friends are invited. Mission Ft. Worth meeting Students participating in Mission Ft. Worth will meet from 6-6:45 PM in the teen room this Wedneday, June 16. Pizza and drinks will be provided. Wilderness Trek meeting Trek participants need to stick around for about 20 minutes after Refuge for a brief meeting. We need to go over the Trek guide and release forms. continue reading this article »What good is it if we say that we have faith in Jesus Christ and do not see the needs of others? In our busy world and our personal struggles we can be overwhelmed by “our stuff” and not have time to stop and look at others. The exciting part of walking with Christ is when we are filled with His love and our eyes begin to look at others in a different way; a loving way. One of the ways we are “living our faith” is by being partners in education with David O. Dodd Elementary. Our partnership with them began in 2009. In 2010 we are joining hands with them to help little children whose parents don’t have the resources to get them the school supplies and uniforms they need for school. LRC [...]
