What good is it if we say that we have faith in Jesus Christ and do not see the needs of others? In our busy world and our personal struggles we can be overwhelmed by “our stuff” and not have time to stop and look at others. The exciting part of walking with Christ is when we are filled with His love and our eyes begin to look at others in a different way; a loving way.
One of the ways we are “living our faith” is by being partners in education with David O. Dodd Elementary. Our partnership with them began in 2009. In 2010 we are joining hands with them to help little children whose parents don’t have the resources to get them the school supplies and uniforms they need for school. LRC will be collecting school supplies and uniforms from June 13 to August 8. If you want to participate, click on this link to see the supply list and sizes needed for uniforms.
“What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, “Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.” (James 2:14–18, NIV)
