Dr Chap and Dee Clark identify 5 broad tasks of parenting. They are: understanding, showing compassion, boundarying, charting/guiding, and launching into adulthood. On understanding, they write, “Understanding does not mean condoning, supporting, or encouraging your child’s behavior, attitude, or even general life slump. To understand, as the most foundational of all parenting roles, is to make sure that your child knows that you are absolutely, unequivocally committed to working hard at taking seriously the reality of your child’s life.” New Bible class begins (June 6) Students entering grades 7-9 begin a new Bible class this Sunday from 9-9:45 AM in the upstairs classroom of the Nichols Building.
