On day 1 we have traveled over 700 miles, stopped at 4 convenience stores and two restaurants, one called The Rabbit Ear (which served Mexican food). The hostess at the Rabbit Ear even said our teens were great. Way to go! We’re all in our rooms in Raton, NM looking forward to tomorrow’s adventure. Continue to pray for us. Pray that this experience together transforms our hearts and lives as we journey together.

14 high school students and 5 adults are in Colorado this week at Wilderness Trek.  Please keep them in your prayers. Parent/Teen Refuge (August 4) Parents and teens will meet Wednesday, August 4 at 7 PM in the teen room for a special night at Refuge. We will share highlights from the summer and go over the 2010/2011 school-year calendar. Please bring your calendars and a dessert to share with others. Coffee, tea, and water will be provided. Child care will also be provided in the gym while we meet. Reminder: There is no Refuge this Wednesday.

Wilderness Trek Meeting Wilderness Trek meeting Sunday night (July 23), 6 PM, at Mike and Jeannie Cagle’s (23 Kanis Creek Place). Please bring 1) Wilderness Trek form; 2) white water rafting release form. Both should be completed. Contact Chad for more details. Here’s a map to their home. Twelve 7-9th graders and 3 adults embark on a journey tomorrow at 5 PM from LRC. The journey includes painting a home, remodeling a bathroom, watching a Rangers game, helping a ministry called Fortress Youth Development Center, and spending a day at Six Flags Over Texas.  Please keep the following students in your prayers for the next 4 days as they serve others — Christian Bradley, Trey Breeding, Jessica Clifton, Madeline Chandler, Arian Curtis,Ploy Freebairn,  Alliyah Higgins,Matthew King,  Elizabeth Meachum, Jessica Nankervis,  Lilly Kate Philbrick, and Libby White.  Adults going include myself, Bonnie Chandler, and Angie King.
