JR High Mission Trip (July 7-10)

Twelve 7-9th graders and 3 adults, along with students from Crosswalk Family of God and University Church of Christ (in Conway), are leaving this Wednesday to work with a ministry in Ft. Worth, TX called Fortress Youth Development Center. Projects include painting a home, cleaning and assisting with light repairs at The Fortress, remodeling two bathrooms, and doing a carwash fundraiser for The Fortress.

NO REFUGE THIS WEEK! We will have Refuge July 14 at the building.

Senior High Trek (July 23-31)

A couple of updates for high school Trekkers.

1) We can stay in rooms at a lodge on site in Salida Thursday night  rather than in tents for $15 per person. Please get me a check for $15 to cover this cost. Make checks payable to Little Rock Church

2) There is a meeting/cookout Sunday, July 18, at 6 PM at the Cagle’s. All adult sponsors and trek team members must be there. We’ll go over final details, make sure everyone has medical releases signed, spend time together praying and getting ready for the week together. Trek participants must bring their completed Trek and white water rafting forms.

3) A few of you still need to make the final $25 payment. Please make that payment along with the $15 for the last night’s lodging at Trek asap. Let me know if you’re unsure that you’re paid in full.

Back-to-school Bash (August 14)

Mike Cagle is doing a fantastic job leading us in partnering with a local elementary impacting our comunity. Through tutoring, mentoring and other ongoing efforts, we partner with David O’Dodd Elementary to make a difference in the lives of children. Additionally, Mike has organized a back-to-school uniform and school item drive. You can find information about that at the back of the auditorium.

One way our teens can help is by assisting with a Back-to-School Bash at the school on Saturday, August 14, from 10 AM – 1 PM. We are partnering with several organizations in SWLR to host this for families.  Please make plans to help with this. We are doing this as a student ministry serving our community together! Contact Mike or me for more details.

Magic Springs (August 15)

Sunday, August 15, Christian bands Kutless and Thousand Foot Krutch will perform at 7 PM at Magic Springs Park  in Hot Springs. Cost is $28 for the day. Teens who help with the back-to-school bash will receive $10 off their ticket. We need at least 15 people to get this rate, so we will only do this if we have at least 15 people.

All families are invited. Children not in the youth group must be accompanied by a parent. Students sign up by paying for their ticket. We will meet at LRC at 1:30 PM and return after the concert.

The sign up deadline is July 31. Sign up by paying. Make checks payable to Little Rock Church. You can give checks to Chad, Dave or Pam.
