Saturday, October 2, from 10 AM-2 PM at War Memorial Stadium, CityFest is hosting a resource drive as part of ONE Event. This resource drive provides items to organizations like the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Central Arkansas, Recycle Bikes of Kids, Rice Depot, Youth Home, and other helping agencies. Individuals and groups will drive through a designated area of the AT&T parking lot at War Memorial Stadium to donate items. A team of volunteers will be there to receive and sort items. Little Rock Church is helping with this effort. You can help in one or more of the following ways: 1. Begin collecting items to donate. continue reading this article »Best Friends Retreat Sign up by this Sunday, September 12, for Best Friends Retreat 2010. Students may register after the 12th but will not receive a t-shirt. BFR is September 24-26 at Camp Tahkodah. It’s for students in grades 7-12 and friends. Cost is $65 per student. You may sign up this Sunday after worship at the preschool kiosk or online at www.bestfriendsretreat.com. Contact Chad Nall if you have any questions. Pinnacle Mountain This Sunday, September 12, we’re planning to spend the afternoon at Pinnacle Mountain State Park. The plan is to meet at LRC at 3 PM, head to the main park and climb the west trail. Afternoon at Pinnacle Mountain Students (parents are invited, too if you would like to come) are invited to an afternoon at Pinnacle Mountain Sunday, September 12. We’ll meet at LRC at 3 PM, drive to Pinnacle, climb and play Ultimate frisbee. After games, we’ll have pizza and drinks. We should return to LRC around 7:30 PM. Cost is reduced to $3 per student. Students need to sign up by Wednesday night, September 8! Friends are always invited.
continue reading this article »Each Wednesday night at Refuge students experience community, spend time in the Word, are mentored and led by spiritually mature adults, pray for one another and have fun in small groups. This is an important aspect of Refuge. The LRC Student Ministry leadership team commits to 1) being prepared for small group time each week; 2) providing a safe, welcoming environment for our students and friends; 3) challenge, equip, encourage and support our students as they become more like Christ for the sake of others. We have fantastic leaders who love our students. I’m excited about their commitment. I love our group leaders and are thankful for them.
