We’re celebrating the end of one year and the beginning of another with a HUGE party with friends from Crosswalk Family of God, University Church of Christ, National Park Church of Christ and Chenal Valley Church. Students are encourged to invite their friends. The party will be at Crosswalk on Wednesday, December 29, from 7-11:30PM.

There will be a dodge ball tournament for 6-8th graders and 9-12th graders. Winning team in each division receives $100. Students may for teams of 5 that include at least two girls on the team. Teams sign up at the door. There will also be ping pong, X-Box360 Kinect FIFA soccer, cornhole and spades tournaments with prizes. Karaoke, board games, video games and snacks food are all part of the night.

Drop off and pick up your teen at Crosswalk. LRC students are asked to bring 2 bags of chips. Friends don’t bring anything.

I need 3 adults to help with the night. Let me know if you can help!

Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader opens this Friday, December 10. We need to change the date to go see it together from Sunday, December 12 to Sunday afternoon, December 19. I have a conflict on the 12th. Please make plans to drop off and pick up your teen at the Rave. I’ll post the show time as soon as it’s made available.

Inside Out: God doing something in us to change the world around us

January 21-23, 2011

Mount Eagle Retreat Center

$60 per student

God works in us so that he can change the world around us. This year’s winter retreat will explore how God works in our lives 1)using spiritual gifts to build up the church, 2)giving us things we are passionate about to be used for his glory, 3) blessing us with abilities that bring glory to him (rather than ourselves), 4) creating each of us with a unique personality, 5) and using our experiences to make a difference in others. He uniquely creates us so that we can glorify him.  In other words, he turns us inside out. Registration begins January 2. Last day to register is January 12. Register by paying for the retreat. Scholarships are available.

Parent/Teen Lunch Meeting

Mark your calendars for Sunday, January 16. We will have a parent/teen lunch meeting immediately following the worship assembly to discuss summer mission trips, fundraising and other spring activities. Angie King is coordinating food, so let her know that you can help bring a food item to share. You’ll receive a letter with a proposed 2011 calendar the week before the meeting. Please take some time to look over that calendar and offer feedback. The youth staff works hard to plan the calendar and we need your feedback. We’ll finalize that calendar at the meeting.
