Last Wednesday at Refuge students spent a few minutes reflecting on little things that went right in their day. Posting one item per Post-It note, they mentioned over 125 different things that went right that day. As we shared those things I was overwhelmed by the goodness of our God. I was struck by how God is interested in the small details of our lives. It’s amazing how the small things add up isn’t it? Check out updated pictures at the LRC Student Ministry Facebook page. continue reading this article »Can you imagine? 34,578 cans of food were donated by Little Rock Church family to the Food for the Hungry Ministry. In a year when the economy is so tough, during a season when LRC also gave $126,000 to complete the Nichols Ministry Building, and right before the Holiday season, the LRC family gave until it hurt! Way to go GOD! It is amazing to see the Body of Christ at work. I have to admit that you guys and the Holy Spirit surprised me. I think I was praying for a miracle but not fully believing. continue reading this article »Ice skating and dinner For 7-12th graders. River Market. Cost is $8 to ice skate plus money for dinner. We’ll meet at LRC at 4 PM. Transportation provided to/from LRC. Should return to LRC around 7:30 PM. Plan is to ice skate for an hour or so, eat dinner together downtown and then return to the building. In Luke 18 Jesus says that those who cry out night and day will have “speedy justice.” 2. Partner Financially with Organizations that care for Orphans There are many Christian ministry to work in many countries who focus on orphan care. Do some research and pick the one that like would like to partner with and get involved financially. 3. Give Finances to Adoptive Families or Help raise funds for Adoptive Families We have families in the LRC family who are considering adopting and you may also know families who are adopting. Adoptions range from $7,000 – $30,000 so it really does take a community to rescue a life. [...]
continue reading this article »Game Night (November 14) 7-12th graders and friends are invited to the home of Russ and Sue White Sunday, November 14 from 5:30-8 PM for games an food. Transportation will be provided from LRC at 5 PM. There is no cost for this. Russ and Sue will let students know if they need to bring anything on Wednesday. River Market on Ice (November 21) We’re planning to go ice skating Sunday, November 21, at River Market. Students will need about $15 for ice skating and dinner. The plan is to meet at LRC at 4 PM, go ice skating and then eat some place downtown. We should return to LRC around 7:30 PM.
