“Who do you say I am?”

Jesus asked this question to those who were closest to him. Rumors were swirling. Some called him crazy, others said he was demon-possessed. Others called him a liar. Some just could not believe he was anything other than a poor man from an obscure village. Many began calling him something more — a rabbi, a prophet. They were getting closer. Peter, the most outspoken of his friends, nailed it calling him Messiah. Peter had no idea what that really meant. He knew what he expected, but that was completely different from what Jesus was about to show him.  In the end, Peter learned. He discovered a grand, large vision of Jesus. One that catapulted him into church leadership. One that led him to change the world along with others. As his understanding of Jesus grew, so did his faith in the Messiah.

What about you? Each Wednesday in November, we’re going to take a look at this question, “Who do you say I am?” We’re going to try to paint a picture of the Messiah in such a way that you can’t help but put your faith in him. Come and see for yourself. Could this be the Messiah?
