Refuge
7-12th graders meet every Wednesday night during the school year for Refuge. At Refuge, our desire is for students to 1) experience Christ’s love through peers and others; 2) discover who they are in Christ and how to more closely follow him; 3) and minister to peers. In other words, we pray that students will be called to become more like Christ for the sake of others.
Refuge consists of the following components:
Experiencing community with others – This is done through a meal served each week during the school year from 6:15-6:45 for $3 per student. (We do not serve a meal during the summer months) It’s also done through games and other large group activities
Worship and teaching – Students lead worship each week as we slow down and worship together. Adults and students teach, share testimonies and pray together during this time.
Small group discussions and Bible studies – We believe that students need adults in their lives and interaction with others in small groups. Therefore, we divide students into groups according to age/grade. Each group is led by two adults. Students are led in discussions and Bible studies, pray for one another and develop deeper relationships. These groups meet for 45 minutes each week during the school year. Small groups are given time off during the summer months.
