Agape’s Promise
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, and I was in prison and you came to visit me.” Words of Jesus in Matthew 25:35-36
AGAPE’S PROMISE is a ministry to anyone who is homeless. Our intent is to walk with a person to a healthy place in life where she/he will have a healthy spiritual life; permanent, safe, healthy living situation; sound mental health; a support group or relationship to help sustain a healthy life; and a sustainable job.
We seek to provide food, clothing, transportation to doctor’s visits, government agencies to help in official documentation, pharmacies to obtain needed medication, and House Church meetings.
HopeWorks, a class for those chronically unemployed, is taught once a year. Participants can learn how to write a resume, interview, and work out a plan that will enable them to obtain their dream job. The key to getting back on their feet is Jesus Christ. He is the only one who can give them enough hope to lift them out of what seems to be a hopeless situation.
